ABOUT THE COLLECTION

The Modern Heritage Collection is a furniture brand by COLAS MODERN that is inspired by our family legacy of artisan craftsmanship dating back to the 1700’s in Blois, France. Honoring this history of excellence, our combination of modern technology and handcraftsmanship reinforces the quality of our luxury contemporary and industrial style. Designed to elevate the interior space with comforting warm tones and soft wood textures, each product adds beauty to all spaces you’ll inhabit.

All of our material is locally sourced and meticulously handcrafted in the USA, designed and produced at our Savannah, GA workshop. The Modern Heritage Collection proudly shares the story of our family legacy and refined style, an elegance that can be passed down for generations.

FAMILY HISTORY OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

OUR FINISHING PROCESS

At COLAS MODERN we believe that our artisan craftsmanship extends beyond the designing and making of our products. We specifically developed our in-house finish and stain for the Modern Heritage Collection, highlighting the warm tones and burnished textures of the wood. All of our products are finished by hand, utilizing a proprietary multi-step finishing process with multiple coats to achieve lasting beauty. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, variations in the wood are to be expected and celebrated as not two pieces will look alike.

PRODUCT CARE

Over the course of time, water marks or other surface marks from everyday use will blend in with the finish and create a unique patina that shares the story of your piece. If the appearance of water marks or heat rings are not your style, we suggest to wipe off any liquid from the wooden surfaces promptly and use coasters or a trivet as needed. As wood naturally expands and contracts over the seasons, possible surface cracks may appear and are no cause for alarm, as it enriches the handcrafted character of your piece. To wipe clean, use a clean dry soft cloth.
